I’ve been dancing with the idea of hosting a Deal Making Summit. A luxurious retreat for a few days where people I like and admire come together to form new working relationships and make deals. Like me, you probably know a lot of people who have great products, services or concepts. People with lots of connections who can do great things but could do much more. What if they were all to get together for a few days and discuss possibilities?
None of us is as powerful, creative or intelligent as All of Us. We can be multiplied by aligning with the resources of someone else. A committed Team will always out perform one talented individual. Og Mandino once told me a story of a man who walked out into his yard the morning after a big storm. He found his son struggling to get his bicycle out from under a fallen tree. He said, “What’s wrong son?” The boy replied, “My bike is stuck and I can’t get it loose.” Dad said, “Use all your strength.” The boy said, with tears in his eyes, “I am using all my strength Dad, but it won’t move.” The father paused and said, “No, son you are not using All of your strength yet. You haven’t asked Me to help.”
Our strength doesn’t live only within us. It lives in all the people we care about and those who care about us. Use All your strength. Ask for help.
I know people in Taiwan, China, Dubai, Cairo, Australia, Las Vegas, San Diego, Atlanta, New York, Orlando, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, Little Rock, Tulsa, Boulder, and around the world who are true “shakers & movers” in their respective fields. What I will do is invite them to join me for a few days of opportunity exploration. Not for me, but for them. I want to facilitate a gathering that fosters a whole new era of wonderful breakthroughs. It has been my privilege to be present as some of the top thought leaders of the past century have plied their trades. It is thrilling to see what can happen when good people come together with a generous heart and an open mind.
“Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I also.” Maybe that’s it, God likes meetings! (Humor intended.)
This meeting won’t be a series of lectures or keynotes or seminars. All that can be done offline and before or after. This is Face Time among amazing people.
